The last book shopping brings in a few picture books for Lun. All these weren’t a successful reading.
Firstly, i forgotten that Lun was too big for animal picture book cards. The vegetable book cards were boring too.
Chinese nursery books i’d bought was a failure.(Too difficult.) The only book that he read was the book that he had chosen.
This brings me back to the question on How to choose a good picture book.
An article from SinChew newspaper mention that best picture books doesn’t always come in a cute form. In fact, cute books will only mislead them to an unreal, flattering, fantasy world. Worst, when it has blurred their understanding between real and fantasy.
In other word, cute picture books will only under estimate children’s understanding power.
So, what is a good picture book?

Like my title above. I had my near death experience minutes ago. I’d shock, stunt and flat down then shock, stunt, woke up and alive.
It was my bravery act to try upgrading my Wordpress 2.1.3 to Wordpress 2.2. Mind you, I knew nuts on CPANEL and FTP and my wordpress set up was done by my friends’ {Cloudie} favor.

For Walking stage
This is the hardest stage to attract babies. Even harder to make them sit down for reading.
The best way is to get topics that they favor and plenty of big pictures and less texts. Some kids love animals, some like cars, Barnies etc. Even if you can’t find any good topics they like. It’s ok to let them have a variety of books ready at a corner where they can read it anytime they want.

For 4Months - Early sitting stage.
- Books that will endure wear & tear- board and cloth books are perfect
- Clear Pictures
- Familiar subjects & pictures- animals, babies, children, cars, trains, anything a young child will recognize
- Small books, fun for little hands
- Touch and feel books- soft and furry, hard and sturdy etc..
