To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out
personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at
bedtime then cover with socks.Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and
stay stopped for many, many hours of relief.

Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very
strong prescriptions cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing
and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

It doesn’t help Lun. I’ve had tried a few days, he is still coughing. Maybe, it only helps for the normal cough. We had an accidental result that, it stop running nose.

Lun had running nose few days ago, (not flu), i tried rubbing VICKS and the socks. He was cured the next day. No running nose and he sleep soundly at night.

Coughing

Lun, my son had been coughing for months. He caught flu and eventually turn into a horrible cough that lasted for months.

We had seek many doctors advice, Chinese sensei, pediatric from the hospital and clinic. The most expensive visit was to Glean Eagle Hospital, Doc prescribe him asthmatic medication. The result?

He is still coughing.

I had thought of sending him back to Glean Eagle Hospital for the 3rd visit, Doctor did told us to send him back if the coughing still persist. But, he stop coughing for a few days after the second visit. Doctor also told us that he had recovered. There is no need to see him again unless, coughing again. We were advice to stop fruits and cold water for a week.

Cough came back when i forgot to stick to docs’ advice, i gave him a banana. Now, he had been constantly cough whenever he laugh, cried, or being too excited.

I stop his western medication. He needs to get stronger to fight the coughing. We gave him more water, tried VICKS Vaporub and poor boy, we stop his fruits.

Last weekend i brought him to TongShin chinese medical dept. He was diagnosed 过敏性咳嗽 ,Allergy.

Doc asked me a few more normal question and told me, just to avoid air-con and keep his surrounding clean. He can still takes fruits and cold food. Later, he gave Lun a smelly medication for 3 days. If coughing persist, we had to visit him again.

He is still coughing.

I will bring him back to TongShin, maybe doctor will gave him different medication or i should ask doc if there is other way.

Oh, nasty cough. How can i get rid of it?
